It is official...third time is the charm!
In October 2010, we set out to open an outdoor store focused on supplying outdoor enthusiasts with an experience built on technical expertise, customer service and a comprehensive gear selection. What we found was that shop itself was only part of the equation. The other part was creating an environment that fostered growth in our community and allowed people to connect with each other in ways that we didn’t think would be possible. We discovered the fruits of our passion in talking with people about their trips they had been on, pointing out the best spots on a map for all the local trails or points of interest, tons of story telling about our trips as our pictures scrolled across the TV and organizing events for the community to enjoy. We have also embraced the philosophy of making our staff as important to our complexion as the products we offer – compromising technical expertise or kindness-driven service is not an option. We have been beyond blessed with some incredible staff that have brought the perfect mix of talents and hobbies, allowing us to truly specialize in representing all areas of the outdoors.
We live in the most beautiful place in the world and we can’t help but get excited thinking that we can help someone else fall in love with the things we are passionate about. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would be so lucky to meet so many incredible people and get to experience so much in such a short time! We have always tried to push the limits for what a retail experience could be. You see, for us it has been less about numbers and more about the passion. When we sit back and look at where we have come from over the last seven years, it’s impossible to not think of what the next seven years will hold. We have always seen our shop model being best used in small towns like Franklin and Cherokee where we can connect with the community, serve a purpose and meet needs. We’ve made a habit of meeting at the beginning of each New Year to plan out new ideas on where we should direct our energy. Those meetings have led to a two-day outdoor music and sports festival, a summer concert series, annual trail races and tons of fundraisers for many local non-profits. Why do we do it? Because we love our community and feel like if we have the resources to make it happen then we should be good stewards and do our part!
In early 2015 we met and committed ourselves to working towards expansion of another Outdoor 76 even though we didn’t know when it would happen. Since then we have been consistently seeking growth opportunities in other markets. Our most recent expansion was into the Cherokee, NC community where we have immediately connected with those who are visiting the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and for locals who are outdoor enthusiasts. During our search for new potential locations we have never felt the need to push the door open and make something happen without the right opportunity. Finally in the summer of 2017 we were presented with an opportunity to open an additional door of Outdoor 76 in one of the up and coming markets here in the south. We prayed about it, talked about it, researched it and have seen that it is the perfect fit for what we do. We are excited to announce that we will be opening our third location in Clayton, Georgia in the later part of 2018! Our families would ask for your continued support as we transition to our third shop. We are beyond excited to bring the quality goods, services and stewardship of supporting the community in the north Georgia market as we have here in Franklin!
